EGSC Correll Scholarship

The Correll Scholars Program recognizes and prepares exceptionally promising students as future community leaders in our region by awarding $5000 to each student.  We award 20 scholarships per year, with 10 being awarded to students in early December.


Eligibility requirements:

  • Students must attend the EGSC Swainsboro campus

  • No minimum high school GPA or test scores

  • Primary focus is leadership and service

Application Process:

  • Completion of EGSC Admissions Application and acceptance to EGSC

  • Completion of the online Correll Scholars Program Application

  • Submission of an essay addressing the topic “how will you use your education to transform your community? (1000-word essay)

April 1, 2018 NRAEF Scholarships Students, military servicemen and women and foodservice educators can apply for scholarship awards to pursue their dreams of becoming future leaders in the restaurant and foodservice industry. Awards can be used towards tuition and fees, books, room and board and other school-related expenses. Individuals can apply at any age, whether they're recent high-school graduates or adults looking to make a career change.

February 5, 2018 "We the Students" Essay Competition

Students submit a 500-800 word essay.  Students are to consider what role the government should play in monitoring internet content 

  • 1st Place – $5,000 and a scholarship to our 2018 Constitutional Academy in Washington, D.C.
  • Runners Up – Six prizes at $1,250 each.
  • Honorable Mentions – Eight prizes at $500 each.

December 31, 2017 Power of the Pen Scholarship One student grant winner will earn $12,500 to further their education and/or continue their good works. The winner's school will also be awarded $2,500 to help enhance their efforts to foster student overachievement.  Entrants are required to submit 1,000 to 1,500 handwritten words expressing how they, or a student they know, are working outside the classroom to benefit others.
September 15, 2017 The Gates Scholarship The Gates Scholarship is a highly selective, full scholarship for exceptional, Pell-eligible, minority, high school seniors. Starting in 2018, the scholarship will be awarded to 300 top student leaders each year with the intent of promoting their academic excellence through college graduation, and providing them the opportunity to reach their full potential.

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship

This national program awards college scholarships to high school seniors who embody the characteristics of President Ronald Reagan at school, in the community, in the workplace, and at home.  Recipients receive $10,000 renewable scholarships - up to $40,000 per student.

Ongoing Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation CKSF scholarship competitions consist of one or more quizzes with topics ranging from general "common knowledge" to specific academic subjects, books, websites, and even movies. Scores are based on a combination of time and accuracy. Students with the highest scores at the end of the competition win. There are no essays or long applications to complete and a single CKSF registration is good from high school all the way through college and graduate school.
